Using hacer falta - 'to need' or 'to lack'

Hacer falta is a verb phrase used to express the need or absence.

It translates as 'to need', or 'to lack' depending on the context.

The phrase takes an indirect object which indicates (to) whom or what is doing the 'needing'.
