The negative imperative

In Spanish there is a distinct conjugation for the negative imperative.

Below is a sumary of the conjugations for the regular verbs:

The format is (using example verb) : tú, vosotros, usted, ustedes & nosotros

• -AR Verbs (using hablar): no hables, no habléis, no hable, no hablen & no hablemos

• -ER Verbs (using comer): no comas, no comáis, no coma, no coman & no comamos

• -IR Verbs (using abrir): no abras, no abráis, no abra, no abran & no abramos

Notice the negeting no preceeding the verb itself.

Examples:
	No hables tan rápido. (You, familiar) don't speak so fast. hablar ⇒ (tú) no hables tan rápido means 'so fast'
	No habléis en clase. (You all, familiar, plural) don't speak in class. hablar ⇒ (vosotros) no habléis en clase means 'in class'
	No hable durante la reunión. (You, formal) don't speak during the meeting. hablar ⇒ (usted) no hable
	No hablen tan alto. (You all, formal, plural) don't speak so loudly. hablar ⇒ (ustedes) no hablen tan alto means 'so loudly'
	No hablemos más de esto. Let's not talk about this anymore. hablar ⇒ (nosotros) no hablemos más de esto means 'about this anymore'
	No comas dulces antes de la cena. (You, familiar) don't eat sweets before dinner. comer ⇒ (tú) no comas antes de la cena means 'before dinner'
	No comáis en el salón. (You all, familiar, plural) don't eat in the living room. comer ⇒ (vosotros) no comáis en el salón means 'in the living room'
	No coma tan rápido. (You, formal) don't eat so fast. comer ⇒ (usted) no coma
	No coman aquí. (You all, formal, plural) don't eat here. comer ⇒ (ustedes) no coman
	No comamos demasiado. Let's not eat too much. comer ⇒ (nosotros) no comamos
	No abras la ventana. (You, familiar) don't open the window. abrir ⇒ (tú) no abras
	No abráis los regalos ahora. (You all, familiar, plural) don't open the gifts now. abrir ⇒ (vosotros) no abráis
	No abra la puerta sin permiso. (You, formal) don't open the door without permission. abrir ⇒ (usted) no abra sin permiso means 'without permission'
	No abran los libros todavía. (You all, formal, plural) don't open the books yet. abrir ⇒ (ustedes) no abran
	No abramos el negocio hoy. Let's not open the business today. abrir ⇒ (nosotros) no abramos
	No te levantes tan temprano. (You, familiar) don't get up so early. levantarse ⇒ (tú) no te levantes tan temprano means 'so early'
	No os acostéis tarde. (You all, familiar, plural) don't go to bed late. acostarse ⇒ (vosotros) no os acostéis
	No se duerma en la reunión. (You, formal) don't fall asleep in the meeting. dormirse ⇒ (usted) no se duerma en la reunión means 'in the meeting'
	No se laven las manos aquí. (You all, formal, plural) don't wash your hands here. lavarse ⇒ (ustedes) no se laven lavarse means 'to wash oneself'
	No nos vayamos todavía. Let's not leave yet. irse ⇒ (nosotros) no nos vayamos
	No bebas demasiada agua. (You, familiar) don't drink too much water. beber ⇒ (tú) no bebas demasiada means 'too much'
	No bebáis en la fiesta. (You all, familiar, plural) don't drink at the party. beber ⇒ (vosotros) no bebáis en la fiesta means 'at the party'
	No corras en el pasillo. (You, familiar) don't run in the hallway. correr ⇒ (tú) no corras en el pasillo means 'in the hallway'
	No corráis en el parque. (You all, familiar, plural) don't run in the park. correr ⇒ (vosotros) no corráis en el parque means 'in the park'
