|||
One very common Spanish irregular -AR verb is dar which means 'to give'. It takes the indirect object for the person receiving. And if the indirect object is an indirect object pronoun then it doesn’t need a following preposition. However if the indirect object is not a pronoun then the preposition a is required. The verb dar conjugates as follows. • For yo: drop the -ar and add -oy so dar ⇒ yo doy • For tú: drop the -ar and add -as so dar ⇒ tú das • For él, ella, usted: drop the -ar and add -a so dar ⇒ él da etc. • For nosotros, nosotras: drop the -ar and add -amos so dar ⇒ nosotros damos etc. • For vosotros, vosotras: drop the -ar and add -ais so dar ⇒ vosotros dais etc. • For ellos, ellas, ustedes: drop the -ar and add -an so dar ⇒ ellos dan etc. |
