The conditional tense or el condicional is used to express actions that would happen under certain conditions. It is similar to the English 'would' + [verb]. The conditional tense is formed by adding the following endings to the infinitive form of the verb (using hablar as an example): • yo : [infinitive] + -ía : so hablaría • tú : [infinitive] + -ías : so hablarías • él, ella, usted : [infinitive] + -ía : so hablaría • nosotros : [infinitive] + -íamos : so hablaríamos • vosotros : [infinitive] + -íais : so hablaríais • ellos, ellas, ustedes : [infinitive] + -ían : so hablarían |
