Talking about dates

• To ask for today's date use the phrase" ¿Qué fecha es hoy? - 'What date is it today?'.

-- fecha (f) means 'date'

• To state a date use this structure: the definite article el + [number for the day] + de + [month] + de + [the year].

-- The first day of the month is often expressed with the ordinal number (el primero), while the cardinal numbers are used for all other days of the month.

• The preposition en is used to say 'on' a particular year or month. And when asking about a specific yearmonthday of the week the question is ¿En qué añoΔmesΔdía...

Examples:
	¿Qué fecha es hoy? What date is it today? fecha (f) means 'date'
	Hoy es el veintisiete de enero. Today is the twenty-seventh of January. veintisiete means 'twenty-seven' enero (m) means 'January'
	Es el dieciocho. It's the eighteenth.
	¿Qué fecha es hoy? What date is it today?
	Es el primero de febrero. It's the first of February. primero means 'first' febrero (m) means 'February'
	¿Qué fecha fue ayer? What date was yesterday?
	Ayer fue treinta y uno de junio. Yesterday was June 31. treinta y uno means 'thirty-one' junio (m) means 'June'
	¿Cuál es la fecha de tu cumpleaños? What is the date of your birthday?
	Mi cumpleaños es el once. My birthday is the 11th.
	Compramos nuestro coche el dos de abril de 2020. We bought our car on April 2, 2020. abril (m) means 'April'
	Tengo una cita con el dentista el tres de octubre. I have a dentist appointment on October 3rd. dentista (mf) means 'dentist' octubre (m) means 'October'
	El primero de mayo es festivo. May the first is a public holiday. mayo (m) means 'May' festivo (m) means 'public holiday'
	Tengo una cita con el médico en marzo. I have a doctor's appointment in March. marzo (m) means 'March'
	¿En qué mes estamos?What month is it? Literally 'In what month are we?'; Can also be used to ask what year (/año/) it is.
	¿En qué mes es la Pascua? What month is Easter? Pascua (f) means 'Easter'
	Este año la Pascua es en marzo. Easter is in March this year.
	El año pasado la Pascua fue en abril. Last year Easter was in April.
	¿Qué año es? What year is it?
	¿En qué año los conociste? In what year did (you, familiar) meet them?
	En 2025, (yo) iré a Nueva Zelanda. In 2025, (I) will go to New Zealand. Nueva Zelanda means 'New Zealand'
	¿En qué año comenzó la Segunda Guerra Mundial? In what year did World War II begin? Segunda Guerra Mundial means 'World War II'
	¿En qué mes celebraron los rusos la revolución? In which month did the Russians celebrate the revolution? ruso (adj.) means 'Russians' revolución (f) means 'revolution'
	Mi hija nació en diciembre. My daughter was born in December. nacer means 'to be born'
	Este año en enero hay dos lunas llenas. This year in January there are two full moons. luna llena means 'full moon'
