Further rules for forming the plural form of the noun are as follows: Nouns ending in -z: change the -z to -ces to form the plural. -- for example lápiz (pencil) ⇒ lápices Nouns ending in -ión: add -es and drop the written accent in the plural form -- for example lección (lesson) ⇒ lecciones Nouns ending in an Unstressed Vowel + s: does not change in the plural -- for example paraguas (umbrella) ⇒ paraguas Nouns ending in -í or -ú: add either -es or -s. Both forms are correct, though the -es form is more common -- for example rubí (ruby) ⇒ rubíes or rubís |
