Russian grammar - The future tense of быть (to be)

The future tense of быть (to be)

The verb to быть conjugated in the present tense becomes the perfective future:

• Я буду (I will be)

• Ты будешь (you will be)

• Он/она/оно будет (he/she/it will be)

• Мы будем (we will be)

• Вы будете (you will be)

• Они будут (they will be)

Examples:
	Завтра они будут на работе. They will be at work tomorrow. быть ⇒ (они) будут
	Я не буду в Испании этой зимой. I will not be in Spain this winter. быть ⇒ (я) буду
	Ты будешь дома в двадцать минут восьмого завтра утром? Will you (informal) be at home at twenty past seven tomorrow morning? быть ⇒ (ты) будешь
	Где вы будете во вторник днем? Where will you (formal) be on Tuesday afternoon? быть ⇒ (вы) будете
	Она не знает, где она будет в воскресенье. She does not know where she will be on Sunday. быть ⇒ (она) будет
	Когда они будут здесь, вы знаете? When will they be here, do you (formal) know? быть ⇒ (они) будут
	Я надеюсь, что вы скоро будете здесь. I hope that you (plural) will be here soon. быть ⇒ (вы) будете
	Это будет моя школа в следующем году. That will be my school next year. быть ⇒ (это) будет
	Кто-то должен будет ему помочь. Someone will need to help him. быть ⇒ (кто-то) будет
	Он будет счастлив, если вы скажете ему спасибо. He will be happy if you (formal) say thanks to him. быть ⇒ (он) будет счастлив (short form of счастливый) means 'happy' or 'lucky'
	Где вы будете завтра в это время? Where will you (formal) be this time tomorrow? быть ⇒ (вы) будете
	Похоже, что их там не будет. It appears that they won't be there. быть ⇒ будет subject они is in the genitive so use singular neuter (оно) будет.
	Мне надо будет позвонить. I will need to make a call. быть ⇒ (оно) будет making a phone call is the subject so we use (оно) будет
	Катя должна будет это сделать. Katya will have to do that. быть ⇒ (она) будет
	Ему нужны будут деньги. He will need money. быть ⇒ (они) будут деньги (plural) is the subject so we use (они) будут
	В этом году у меня будет три отпуска. I will have three holidays this year. быть ⇒ (у меня) будет here we use the the third person singular будет to mean 'will be'
	Мне будет грустно, когда праздник закончится. I will be sad when the holiday is over. быть ⇒ (мне) будет here это is implied so we have 'it (это) will be sad to me (мне)'.
