Certain words dealing with the seasons and times of the day are frequently used in their instrumental declension. • лето (summer, neu.) ⇒ летом (in summer) • осень (fall/autumn, fem.) ⇒ осенью (in the fall/in autumn) • зима (winter, fem.) ⇒ зимой (in winter) • весна (spring, fem.) ⇒ весной (in spring) • утро (morning, neu.) ⇒ утром (in the morning) • день (day, masc.) ⇒ днём (during the day) • вечер (evening, masc.) ⇒ вечером (in the evening) • ночь (night, fem.) ⇒ ночью (at night) |
