When où means 'when'

The word où means 'where' but it can also mean 'when'.

In French when we need a relative pronoun that refers to a time or period of time, we use où.

-- In English we say 'the day that something happened' but in French we say le jour où quelque chose s'est passé.

Examples:
	Lundi, c'est le jour où nous faisons les courses. Monday is the day we go shopping.
	2017, c'est l'année où j'ai déménagé à Sydney. 2017 is the year I moved to Sydney.
	Elle est arrivée le jour où il est parti. She arrived the day he left.
	Je n'oublierai jamais le jour où nous avons gagné le match. I'll never forget the day we won the game.
	On ne l'a plus vue depuis le jour où elle est partie. We haven't seen her since the day she left.
	Le jeudi est le jour où il rend visite à ses grands-parents. Thursday is the day he visits his grandparents.
	Nous nous baignons dans le lac pendant les mois où il fait chaud. We bathe in the lake during the warmer months.
	Les jours où nous étions à l'hôtel étaient superbes. The days we were at the hotel were great.
	L'époque où nous vivons est paisible. The time in which we live is peaceful.
	C'était l'année où ils ont gagné la coupe du monde. It was the year they won the world cup.
	J'ai mis la table au moment où ma mère a sorti le rôti du four. I set the table when my mother took the roast out of the oven.
	Au moment où nous sommes arrivés à la maison, le téléphone a sonné. The moment we got home, the phone rang.
