The plural indefinite article - des

Unlike English, French has a plural indefinite article - des.

The particle des refers to more than one countable object (like 'eggs' or 'bottles of milk') but not uncountable objects (like 'milk' or 'air').

Like the plural definite article les, des is the same for masculine and feminine nouns.

Examples:
As-tu des amis ?
Do you (familiar) have friends?

Oui, j'ai des amis.
Yes, I have friends.

She has flowers in her hair.

fleur (m) means 'flower'

Il y a des élèves dans la classe.
