Using si ('if') to express some conditional future action is common. The patterns is -- The condition clause (before the si) should NOT be in le futur simple. The conditional clause can also be in le passe compose with the outcome remaining in le futur simple. |

Si j'ai soif, je boirai de l'eau.
If I'm thirsty, I will drink water. |

S'ils peuvent, ils mangeront dans l'avion.
If they can, they will eat on the plane. |

Si j'ai l'argent, j'achèterai la voiture.
If I have the money, I will buy the car. |

S'il ne veut pas lire, il regardera la télé.
If he doesn't want to read, he will watch TV. |

Je le ferai si j'ai le temps.
I will (do it) if I have time. |

|
Si tu étudies, tu réussiras à l'examen.
If you (familiar) study, you will pass the exam. |

Si vous me dites la vérité, je vous croirai.
If you (plural) tell me the truth, I'll believe you. |
