The verb 到 (dào) alone means 'to arrive'. However, when it is attached to a verb, it emphasizes the completion of the action. |

她找到了工作。
tā zhǎo dào le gōngzuò. She found (successfully) a job.

他写到了第十页。
tā xiě dào le dì shí yè. He wrote up to page ten. |

我听到了一个好消息。
wǒ tīng dào le yí gè hǎo xiāoxī. I heard some good news. |

她买到了票。
tā mǎi dào le piào. She bought the tickets. |

他学到了很多知识。
tā xué dào le hěnduō zhīshi. He learned (completely) a lot of knowledge.
