'Like this' and 'like that' using 这样 (zhèyàng) and 那样 (nàyàng)

The term 样 (yàng) can be used to specify a method, manner, or example in Chinese.

— The word 样 (yàng) means 'kind', 'type', 'manner', or 'appearance'.

By using 样 with the demonstrative pronouns 这 (zhè) and 那 (nà), we get the adverbs 'like this' and 'like that'.

Or 'in this way' and ''in that way'.

Examples:
	如果你这样做，他会开心。 rúguǒ nǐ zhèyàng zuò,#tā huì kāixīn. If you do it like this, he will be happy.
	这样画更美。 zhèyàng huà gèng měi. Drawing like this is more beautiful.
	他总是那样笑。 tā zǒngshì nàyàng xiào. He always laughs like that.
	那样穿衣服很时尚。 nàyàng chuān yīfu hěn shíshàng. Dressing like that is very fashionable. 时尚 (shíshàng) means 'fashion'
	我们一定要这样做。 wǒmen yídìng yào zhèyàng zuò. We should/will definitely do it like this.
	这样看更清楚。 zhèyàng kàn gèng qīngchǔ. Looking at it like this is clearer.
	他不喜欢那样工作。 tā bù xǐhuān nàyàng gōngzuò. He doesn't like to work in that way.
	我们可以这样安排时间。 wǒmen kéyǐ zhèyàng ānpái shíjiān. We can arrange the time like this.
	这样做对吗？ zhèyàng zuò duì ma? Is it right to do it like this?
	这样学习很有趣。 zhèyàng xuéxí hěn yǒuqù. Learning like this is very interesting.
	你那样写可以吗？ nǐ nàyàng xiě kéyǐ ma? Is it okay if you write like that?
	那样练习可以提高你的水平。 nàyàng liànxí kéyǐ tígāo nǐ de shuǐpíng. Practicing like that can improve your level.
	请这样说给我听。 qǐng zhèyàng shuō gěi wǒ tīng. Please say it like this for me to hear.
