Chinese grammar - Demonstrative adjectives with a number of objects

Demonstrative adjectives with a number of objects

In Chinese, when we use demonstrative adjectives with a specific number of objects, we use the singular (zhè) and (nà) - 'this' and 'that'.

So, for example in Chinese, we say 'this 3 apples' rather than 'these 3 apples'.

Examples:

zhè sān gè píngguǒ hén xiǎo.
These three apples are small.
那四个人是中国人。
nà sì gè rén shì zhōngguó rén.
