Pattern: Verb stem + 았/었으면 좋겠다 This Verb ending 면 좋겠다 expresses hope or a wish. Broken down the 면 means 'if', the 좋 means 'good' and the 겠 marks the future. So taken together the pattern literally means 'will/would be good if'. Note also that while the first clause can be in either the past or present tense it is most common to see it in the past tense. The difference in meaning is ambiguous. |
