The same as, just like - 마찬가지(로)

The noun 마찬가지 means 'being exactly the same' or 'being identical'. There is no real equivalent noun in English.

-- 가지 means 'kind' while 마찬 derives from old Korean and means 'of one kind'.

In its verb form 마찬가지이다 means 'to be the same as' and if often contracted to 마찬가지다.

The adverbal form 마찬가지로 is used to express similarity between two nouns.

-- The 로 in this context means 'way'.

The nouns that are being likened are often marked with the particle (이)나 (or, either) or 와/과 (with)

마찬가지로 can also be used as the adverb 'similarly'.

Examples:
	그것이나 이것이나 마찬가지다. That is the same as this. 마찬가지이다 means 'to be the same as' but contracted to 마찬가지다.
	그것은 새것이나 마찬가지다. It is as good as new.
	나도 마찬가지야! I am the same! / Same as me! informal
	둘 다 마찬가지다. The two are both much the same.
	우리 강아지가 우리 한 식구나 마찬가지예요. It's like our dog is part of our family. informal
	가나 안 가나 마찬가지면 가겠다. Whether (I) go or not is all the same to me, then I’ll go. 겠다 ending - future tense narrative form
	비와 마찬가지로 안개도 수분이에요. Like rain, fog is also moisture. 안개 means 'fog' or 'mist' 수분 means 'water' or 'moisture'
	겨울과 마찬가지로 가을에도 건조해요. As in winter, it is also dry in autumn. 건조하다 means 'to be dry'
	그녀와 마찬가지로 그 사람도 한국어를 공부하고 있어요. He is also studying Korean like she (is doing).
	수연이도 그 친구와 마찬가지로 공부를 잘해요. Suyoen, like that friend, is also studies well.
	예은이는 언니와 마찬가지로 눈이 크고, 잘 웃어요. Yeeun, just like (her) older sister, has big eyes and smiles nicely. 잘 웃는다 means 'smiles a lot'. Likewise 잘 운다 means 'cry a lot or often' and 잘 먹는다 means 'eat a lot'
	초등학생들도 대학생과 마찬가지로 컴퓨터가 없으면 안 된다. Like college students, students in elementary school must have/can’t do without computers.
	제 여동생도 마찬가지로 프랑스어 배워요. My younger sister is learning French as well.
	그는 오늘도 어제와 마찬가지로 아침밥을 먹고 나자마자 집을 나왔어요. Just like yesterday, he left home immediately after breakfast today.
	민수도 다른 사람들과 마찬가지로 그 결정에 반대합니다. Minsu disagrees with the decision just like other people do.
	그 나라 국민들은 대통령과 마찬가지로 부통령도 탄핵하기를 원했다. People in the country want to impeach the vice president just like they would want to impeach the president. 탄핵하다 means 'to impeach' 부통령 means 'vice president' 대통령 means 'president'
	지난 몇 개월 동안 석유 가격과 마찬가지로 식량 가격도 올랐어요. Over the few months, the food price has increased just like the oil price has. 식량 means 'food'
