So, therefore. And then - 아서/어서

The pattern Verb stem + 아서/어서 is used to express causation or a sequence of actions.

-- In its sense of causation it is similar to 때문에 (for the reason of)

It is also used to express a sequence of actions - like the English term 'and then'.

This pattern is a short form of 그래서 which means 'therefore', 'accordingly', 'because of that', 'because things are like that'

Examples:
그 여자가 너무 예뻐서 저는 그녀를 만나고 싶어요.
That girl is very pretty, so I want to meet her.

예뿌다 예뻐서

심심해서 공원에 가고 싶어요.
(I) am bored, so (I) want to go to the park.

심심하다 심심해서

저는 너무 못생겨서 성형수술을 받고 싶어요.
I am really ugly, so (I) want to get plastic surgery.

못생기다 못생겨서

고속도로가 막혀서 일반 도로로 갈 거예요.
The highway is blocked up so (I) will take the normal road.

막히다 막혀서

우리가 어제 다퉈서 저는 그 사람이랑 얘기하고 싶지 않아요.
Yesterday we argued, so I don’t want to talk with him.

다투다 다퉈서

정희가 임신해서 회사에 오는 것이 힘들어요.
Junghee is pregnant, so it is difficult for (her) to come to the office.

임신하다 임신해서

배가 곧 터질 것 같아서 더 못 먹을 거예요.
(My) stomach seems about to explode so (I) will not be able to eat anymore.

같다 같아서

여기에 여행자가 너무 많아서 다른 곳으로 갈 거예요.
There are too many travellers/tourists here, so (I) am going to go to a different place.

많다 많아서

오늘 너무 피곤해서 눈이 자꾸 감겨요.
Today (I) am so tired, so (my) eyes keep shutting.

피곤하다 피곤해서

집이 멀어서 공장에 가기가 어려워요.
It is far from home, so going to the factory is difficult.

멀리다 멀어서

저는 중식을 좋아해서 중식당에 가고 싶어요.
I like Chinese food so (I) want to go to a Chinese restaurant.

좋아하다 좋아해서

너무 매워서 한국 음식은 못 먹어요.
It is too spicy so (I) can't eat Korean food.

맵다 매워서

너무 더워서 집 밖에 안 나가요.
It is so hot so (I) am not going outside of the house.

덥다 더워서

날씨가 너무 좋아서 우리는 바닷가로 갔어요.
The weather was great so we went to the beach.

좋아 좋아서

Causation and sequence of actions

바닷가 means 'beach'

공원에 가서 책을 읽을 거예요.
(I) am going to go to the park and read a book.

가다 가서

A sequence of actions

친구를 만나서 밥을 먹었어요.
(I) met a friend and (we) ate together.

만나다 만나서

A sequence of actions

친구를 만나서 밥을 먹을 거예요.
(I) am going to meet a friend and (we) will eat together.

만나다 만나서

A sequence of actions

내일 만나서 이야기하는 거 어때요?
How about meeting and talking about it tomorrow.

만나다 만나서

살이 많이 빠져서 지금 정장을 편히 입을 수 있어요.
(I) lost a lot of weight, so (I) can comfortably wear a suit now.

빠지다 빠져서

편히 means 'comfortably'

빠지다 means 'to lose wait'

어제 비가와서 오늘 날씨가 너무 좋죠?
It rained yesterday, so today's weather is so nice, isn't it?
