Pattern: Verb stem + (으)려던 참이다 The pattern Verb stem + (으)려던 참이다 states an intended action that was interrupted. The interrupted action can even be the speaker pausing to speak. It is most commonly used in the first person ('I' or 'we'). In the form (으)려는 참에 it can also be used to link two clauses in a sentence. This first clause is interrupted by the second clause. |
