In what way? - de quelle manière & de quelle façon

When asking or talking about how or in what way something is done we can ask using the adverbal phrases:

• de quelle façon ?

• de quelle manière ?

And answer using

• d'une manière... or de manière...

• d'une façon... or de façon...

And the answer to these questions will often (but not necessarily) echo the instrumental de.

Note that de quelle..? can also be used to ask more general questions about the way in which something is done.

Examples:
	De quelle manière dois-je commencer ? How should I start?
	De quelle manière comptes-tu le faire ? Je vais le faire de mon mieux. How do you (familiar) intend to do it? I will do my best. compter faire (verb) means 'to intend to' or 'to plan to'
	De quelle manière pouvons-nous résoudre la dispute ? How can we resolve the dispute? résoudre (verb) means 'to solve' or 'to resolve'
	De quelle manière a-t-il été construit ? Il a été construit à la main. How was it built? It was built by hand.
	De quelle façon marche-t-il ? Il marche de façon étrange. How does it work? It works strangely.
	De quelle façon votre vie est-elle différente maintenant ? How is your (formal) life different now?
	De quelle façon cet objectif peut-il être atteint ? How can this goal be achieved?
	De quelle façon avez-vous appris le français si rapidement ? How did you (formal) learn French so quickly?
	Je suis arrivé à la solution d'une manière étrange. I arrived at the solution in a strange way.
	Il parle d'une manière bizarre. He speaks in a weird way.
	Les adolescents s'habillent d'une façon très particulière. Teenagers dress in a very particular way.
	De quelle main écris-tu ? J'écris de la main gauche. What hand do you (familiar) write with? I write with my left hand.
