Using 哪 (nǎ) for 'which' or 'which one'

The question word (nǎ) is used to ask about choice or selection among multiple options.

It functions similarly to 'which?' in English.

It should be used with the appropriate counter (measure word) when referring to a choice among nouns.

When asking the general 'which one?' we use 哪一个? (nǎ yī gè?).

Examples:
你喜欢哪本书?
nǐ xǐhuān nǎ běn shū?
Which book do you like?

他住哪个房间?
tā zhù nǎ gè fángjiān?
Which room does he live in?
你的老师是哪位?
nǐ de lǎoshī shì nǎ wèi?
Which one is your teacher?

(wèi) is a polite measure word for people in place of - the general measure word for people

他是哪个人?
tā shì nǎ gè rén?
Which person is he? (among a group of people)
你想买哪件衣服?
nǐ xiáng mǎi nǎ jiàn yīfu?
Which piece of clothing do you want to buy?

(jiàn) means 'item' or 'piece' and is the measure word for clothing, events, or things

你喝哪杯咖啡?

(zhǒng) is a measure word to indicate different kinds or types of things
