The word 刚 (gāng) is used to indicate that an action has just occurred recently or very shortly before the moment of speaking. It is equivalent to the English word 'just' or 'just now' when referring to recent past actions. The double 刚刚 (gānggāng) is similar to 刚; however it emphasizes the recency of the action even more strongly. It is like saying 'just now' or 'only just now'. 刚 or 刚刚 is usually placed before the verb in a sentence. |
