'To' and 'from' using 从 (cóng) and 到 (dào)

In Chinese, the pattern (cóng) (dào)... is used to indicate the starting and ending points.

It can refer to actions, time periods, distances, or other contexts where a range is involved.

The pattern is typically + [origin] + [verb] + + [destination]

Examples:
我从家开车到公司。
wǒ cóng jiā kāichē dào gōngsī.
I drive from home to the company.
她从早上工作到晚上。
tā cóng zǎoshang gōngzuò dào wǎnshang.
She works from morning to evening.
他们从北京坐高铁到上海。
tāmen cóng běijīng zuò gāotiě dào shànghǎi.
They take the high-speed train from Beijing to Shanghai.

高铁 (gāotiě) means 'high-speed rail'

我们从一月到三月有项目。
wǒmen cóng yī yuè dào sān yuè yǒu xiàngmù.
We have a project from January to March.
你从周一到周五学习中文。
nǐ cóng zhōuyī dào zhōuwǔ xuéxí zhōngwén.
You study Chinese from Monday to Friday.

周一 (zhōuyī) means 'Monday'

周五 (zhōuwǔ) means 'Friday'

我昨天从图书馆走路到家。
wǒ zuótiān cóng túshūguǎn zǒulù dào jiā.
I walked from the library to home yesterday.
我们上个月从上海到广州出差。
wǒmen shànggè yuè cóng shànghǎi dào guǎngzhōu chūchāi.
We went on a business trip from Shanghai to Guangzhou last month.

出差 (chūchāi) means 'business trip'

他们下周从巴黎飞到罗马。
tāmen xiàzhōu cóng bālí fēi dào luómǎ.
They will fly from Paris to Rome next week.

巴黎 (Bālí) means 'Paris'

(fēi) means 'to fly'

罗马 (Luómǎ) means 'Rome'

我们从春天锻炼到夏天。
wǒmen cóng chūntiān duànliàn dào xiàtiān.
We exercise from spring to summer.

春天 (chūntiān) means 'spring'

夏天 (xiàtiān) means 'summer'

他们从年轻到现在都是朋友。
tāmen cóng niánqīng dào xiànzài dōu shì péngyǒu.
They have been friends from (their) youth to now.
我从九点到十一点有会议。
wǒ cóng jiǔ diǎn dào shíyī diǎn yǒu huìyì.
I have a meeting from 9 o'clock to 11 o'clock.
