In Chinese, the word 价格 (jiàgé) means 'price'. — It is used with the verb 是 (shì) to say 'the price is'. Colloquially, the Chinese currency 块 (kuài) which is used when talking about a price. — 块钱 (kuàiqián) can be used to be more explicit. 钱 means 'money' — When talking about price, we can use the pattern [subject] + [number] + 块 or 块钱. There is no verb. — Or we can use: [subject] + 价格 + 是 + [number] + 块 or 块钱. Using the verb 是. — Note that the Chinese currency is 元 (yuán), which is predominantly used in written contexts, official documents, financial transactions, and formal speech. The word 多少钱 (duōshǎo qián) is used to ask the price. It literally means 'how much money'. |
