Questions about adjectives

It is straightforward in Chinese to ask questions with adjectives.

Just append the question particle (ma) to the end of a declarative statement.

Examples:
树很大吗?
shù hěn dà ma?
Is the tree big?
椅子很小吗?
yǐzi hén xiǎo ma?
Is the chair small?

(hěn) shifts to second tone (hén) before a third tone, as in 很小 (hén xiǎo)

男人很老吗?
nánrén hén lǎo ma?
Is the man old?
老师很年轻吗?
lǎoshī hěn niánqīng ma?
Is the teacher young?
澳大利亚很大吗?
Àodàlìyà hěn dà ma?
Is Australia big?
