In Chinese, the modal verb 应该 (yīnggāi) is used to express obligation, necessity, or suggestion.

It is equivalent to 'should' or 'ought to' in English.

This word is commonly used to give advice, make recommendations, or indicate what is considered the correct or expected course of action.

Examples:
你应该吃健康的食物。
nǐ yīnggāi chī jiànkāng de shíwù.
You should eat healthy food.
我们应该多运动。
wǒmen yīnggāi duō yùndòng.
We should exercise more.
如果他不舒服,他应该去看医生。
rúguǒ tā bù shūfu,#tā yīnggāi qù kàn yīshēng.
If he feels unwell, he should go see a doctor.
