Chinese grammar - 'From' using 从 (cóng) |
In Chinese the preposition 从 (cóng) means 'from', indicating the starting point of the action. When used with 来 (lái) it means 'to come from'. When used with 去 (qù) it means 'to go from [a place] to [another place]'. Note that the structure of the sentence changes when 从 is used - the verbs 来 and 去 appear after the prepositional component. |
