Expressing increasing degree with 越来越 (yuè lái yuè) - more and more

The Chinese phrase 越来越 (yuè lái yuè) is used to indicate that something is increasing in degree or intensity over time.

It is an adverbial phrase (effectively a verb) and is similar to saying 'getting more and more' or 'becoming increasingly' in English.

This problem is getting more and more complicated.

交通 (jiāotōng) means 'traffic'

拥堵 (yōngdǔ) means 'congestion'

变得 (biàn de) means 'to become'

她将来会越来越漂亮。

将来 (jiānglái) means 'future' or 'in the future'
