Asking about location. Where? 哪里 (ná lǐ)?

In Chinese, the prepositional verb (zài) can be combined with the interrogative pronoun 哪里 (nálǐ) to ask questions about the location of an action.

So 在哪里 is like asking 'located where?' in English.

These question do not require the interrogative particle (ma).

Note the tone change from '' (3rd tone) to '' (2nd tone) when is followed by a 3rd tone, such as in (lǐ).
